Battle Ground Firearms Photography

I’m a bit of a gun lover myself, and a few of my friends are amateur collectors and shooters. I got a call from a few of them asking if I wanted to come up and do some photos in the mountains, and after a quick discussion of costs and permission to do a write up on the shoot, we were off!

The shot here shows some of the finer points of polish I like to bring to all my shoots. It looks like a very natural light shot until you get down into the nitty gritty. I have a flash off to camera left just above the brim of the hat. It’s bringing in that pop of light on the face and adding a subtle rim to the firearm. It also allows me to bring a little tiny bit of detail to what would have otherwise been a solid white sky.

It’s that kind of attention to detail that’s going to make photos pop. That’s going to make the difference between an ad campaign bringing in no new clients or some new clients. When your photos look polished, you look professional, and people are going to feel more comfortable dealing with you and your business.
