Portland, OR Bike Portrait

Joelle has become a regular client and good friend of mine, but my favorite shot of her will always be this first one. There was something just magical about the sky that day. It also happened to be the first time I worked with a portable battery for my flash units. That sun setting in the background is no sun at all! The power of portable lighting is pretty incredible, and I’m glad it allows me to create shots like this that wouldn’t be possible any other way.
